Packaging category [PPWR definition]
A combination of material and specific packaging design which determines recyclability by reference to established state-of-the-art collection, sorting and recycling processes proven in an operational environment and which is relevant for the definition of the design for recycling criteria.
Examples: The categories are set out in Annex II of the PPWR. A transparent PET bottle without a sleeve falls into a different category than a black PET bottle with a full plastic sleeve.
