Post-consumer plastic waste [PPWR definition]
Definition of Post-Consumption Plastic Waste PPWR (effective from 12 August 2026)
Waste consisting of plastic originating from plastic products that have either (i) been placed on the market (i.e. from the EU) or (ii) been supplied outside the EU for distribution, consumption or use in the context of a commercial activity, whether or not for payment. N.B. recyclate from production waste is therefore excluded.
