Separate component [PPWR definition]
A packaging component, whether or not from the same material as the main body of the packaging unit, that is distinct from the main body of the packaging unit, that needs to be disassembled completely and permanently from the main body of the packaging unit and that is typically discarded prior to and separately from the main body of the packaging unit, including packaging components that can be separated from each other simply through mechanical stress during transportation or sorting.
Example: A wrapper around a plastic container. The wrapper is removed before use of the product and can be separated from the waste.
